Tailor

This role is individually contributing assigned work with different high end brands by altering purchased garments according to customer’s specifications and preferences to ensure that the division short term objectives and goals are met on points of service to lead to customer and team satisfaction, in addition this role will have to deal with VIP customer directly to understand their requirements for the alteration and based on customers request might also do outdoor services at their home .

Area Of Focus: 

·  Perform garment alterations, including taking in or letting out seams, adjusting hems, and modifying lengths and fits.

·  Measure customers and garment parts accurately to ensure precise alterations.

·  Assemble, stitch, and finish garments using needles, threads, and sewing machines.

·  Maintain garment drape, structure, and proportions throughout alterations.

·  Press, trim, and finish garments to meet brand quality standards.

·  Replace or repair defective parts such as zippers, linings, and buttons.

· Create or modify garment styles, including tapering, reshaping, or adding/removing details.

·  Engage with customers in-store to identify and perform required garment adjustments.

·  Provide personalized tailoring service to VIP clients, including home visits when requested.

·  Communicate effectively with the sales team to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.

·  Address basic customer concerns within defined service guidelines.

·Advise customers on material selection, fit, and garment style modifications

·  Record alteration details and attach accurate tags to garments.

· Ensure all tailoring tools, equipment, and materials are available and properly maintained.

·  Maintain cleanliness and order in the tailoring workspace.

· Inform the Line Manager of any new machinery or equipment needed to enhance efficiency and quality.

·       5 to 7 years of experience in a tailoring in high end fashion industry.

·       Experience working with a variety of fabrics and materials.

·       Fluent in English. Arabic is a plus.

·       Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job, including, but not limited to, sewing machines, pressing and ironing equipment, etc.

·       Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

·       Ability to work varied hours/days, including weekends, and holidays.

·       Willingness to adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.

·       Ability to provide high-quality workmanship in alterations, repairs and pressing of merchandise.

·       Ability to accurately mark and pin garments for alteration.

·       Ability to understand all fit issues and make appropriate recommendations regarding fit and alteration of merchandise.

·       Ability to understand garment care instructions and give appropriate advice with respect to care and maintenance of merchandise.

·       Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understand material, and provide information to all employees’ and customers.

·     Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
