Storekeeper

The  Storekeeper is responsible for managing the daily operations of the store loading bay and storage rooms, including inventory management. He/She coordinates with other departments to meet organizational goals, maintaining high standards of stock quality, and ensuring a well-organized and safe storage environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Receive incoming goods and materials, verifying quality, quantity, and accuracy against purchase orders or delivery notes.

·       Ensure all received items are properly inspected, labeled, and recorded in the inventory management system.

·       Process Return to Vendor (RTV) transactions, barcode updates, price labeling, and stock transfers in coordination with relevant departments.

·       Dispatch goods and materials to designated departments, outlet, or locations while ensuring proper documentation and traceability.

·       Maintain accurate records of all stock movements, receipts, and issues to support efficient inventory control.

·       Organize and maintain stockrooms, loading bay, and storage areas in an orderly, clean, and safe condition in line with company standards.

·       Implement best practices for arranging, categorizing, and tagging items to optimize space utilization and accessibility.

·       Conduct periodic stock counts and assist in cycle counts or annual inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.

·       Monitor stock levels and notify the supervisor or procurement team of low or critical items requiring replenishment.

·       Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

·       Handle materials carefully to prevent damage, spoilage, or shrinkage.

·       Support logistics and operations teams in coordinating deliveries, returns, and transfers between locations.

·       Assist in the preparation of inventory reports, variance analysis, and stock reconciliation as required.

JOB CONTEXT:

·   The Storekeeper works closely with the Operations and Loading Bay teams to ensure the smooth and timely flow of goods and materials within the organization. The role involves regular coordination with various internal departments to manage stock movements, storage, and distribution efficiently. The position operates within a structured environment that emphasizes adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and safety regulations.

· The role may require interaction with external logistics providers, delivery personnel, and suppliers to facilitate the receipt and dispatch of materials. The Storekeeper ensures that all external transactions and movements comply with company standards and operational timelines, supporting the overall efficiency of the supply chain and operational processes.

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control or warehouse operations.
• Experience in retail, in a department store environment is preferred. 
• Fluent in English. Arabic is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
• Knowledge of proper material handling, storage, and safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles and stock management procedures.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work varied hours/days, including weekends, and holidays, as needed.
