Electronics Technician

OBJECTIVE/ PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

This Individually contributing role at an expert level is responsible for electrical and electronic maintenance of all production and related equipment to ensure a smooth production run.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates with production equipment operators for the operations start up and closing.
• Investigate the possible causes for an instrument failure in order to take corrective action.
• Systematically monitors the functioning of all equipment’s.
• Researches and keeps abreast of new equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ensure that all Electrical and Electronics related issues are addressed.
• Provide support to technicians in finding the faults either on electrical or electronic issues.
• Schedule computer maintenance back up operations and fault finding.
• Responsible for preventive maintenance (electrical and electronics) of equipment according to maintenance program.
• Ensure that all repaired components has undergone actual run test.
• Carry out daily start up and stopping of utility equipment.
• During production, attend to any equipment mal function/breakdowns and solve problem as quickly as possible to minimize down time.
• Carryout repairs on parts removed and kept in the work shop.
• Modifications and project work to existing plant electrical and electronics systems.
• Maintenance and repair of electronic instruments and cards.
• Pay attention to health & safety of self and others while working with complex machines & systems.
• Works towards achieving own set objectives to ensure the department’s short term objectives are met.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Electrical/ Electronic engineering.
• At least 7 – 8 years hands on experience in any highly automated food processing plant preferably in soft drink bottling factory.
• Ability to trouble shoot equipment problems quickly.
• Proficient in MS office.
