OBJECTIVE/ PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Business Development Executive - Events is an individual contributor role focused on supporting the company's growth efforts. Key responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities in events and conferences, building client relationships, conducting market research, and assisting in sales and marketing activities. The role operates within a team environment and involves direct engagement with prospective clients to generate leads and expand the company's market presence. This position has a medium-term strategic impact by contributing to revenue growth and market expansion through consistent lead generation and client engagement. It does not entail managerial responsibilities but plays a vital role in supporting sales pipelines, preparing proposals, and tracking development targets. The primary goal is to support the acquisition of new clients and increase sales opportunities, ultimately enhancing brand visibility and laying the foundation for sustained business growth aligned with organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Operational Accountabilities and Tasks

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
  • Support lead generation activities through database management, outreach, and follow-up.
  • Prepare and customize proposals, presentations, and marketing materials for prospective clients.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating events, conferences, and client meetings.
  • Maintain and update CRM systems to track client interactions and sales pipeline progress.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and partners to nurture relationships and gather feedback.

Short, Medium, and Long-Term Projects and Accountabilities:

  • Short-term: Execute outreach campaigns and support immediate lead conversion efforts.
  • Medium-term: Develop a robust pipeline of qualified leads and assist in closing initial deals.
  • Long-term: Contribute to strategic initiatives to enhance brand visibility and expand market reach through targeted marketing and partnership efforts.

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  • Support the development of market entry strategies and client engagement plans.
  • Assist in analyzing market data to identify new business opportunities.
  • Implement outreach and engagement strategies under supervision, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

Customer and Supplier Management & Interface:

  • Act as a point of contact for prospective clients, providing information and support.
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Gather customer feedback and relay insights to the team for continuous improvement.
  • Foster professional relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and retention

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Monitor industry developments and competitor activities.
  • Support team members in preparing reports and performance metrics.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for business development strategies.

Skills

JOB REQUIREMENT:

Education and Qualification

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CRM, Business Development, or Sales certifications are a plus. 
  • Technical/vocational degrees relevant to the industry may also be considered.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role. 
  • Experience in the event, conferences and government sector is preferred. 
  • Prior experience in client relationship management and lead generation is desirable. 
  • Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams and supporting senior management is a plus. 
  • Exposure to managing or supporting a team is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Managing conference and exhibition portfolios.
  • Coordination logistics, marketing, and on-site operations.
  • Financial planning and reporting for events and projects.

Skills and Abilities

  • Language: Fluent in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
